Our P.E days in 2019 - 2020 are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure that all earrings are removed otherwise your child will unfortunately not be able to join in with the rest of their class. Please make sure your child's long hair is tied back, and that ALL items of kit are named.
From September we are asking for children to come to school on their PE days in their PE kits rather than getting changed at school. They will need to wear their shorts and PE T shirt with a pair of jogging bottoms and their school jumper. Please make sure that long hair is tied back and ALL items of kit are named.
Birthday assembly will be every Wednesday at 9am. Parents are encouraged to attend to watch their child blow out the candles and receive a special birthday sticker from Mrs Ireland. Birthday weeks start on the Sunday and end the following Saturday, so please join us in celebrating on the Wednesday of your child's birthday week.
Please remember to complete and return school dinner menus for the following week. Food has to be ordered in advance and meals are cooked according to that order. Please do not expect a meal if you have not ordered it in advance.
Please do not send your child with a packed lunch if you have ordered a meal as that meal will be wasted. We cannot change the order mid-week. If you wish to change your child's order please speak to office staff and they will change it for the following week.
If staff see that a child is not eating anything at all they may well suggest they bring their own lunch until they are happy to eat a school hot meal.
During the school year, you will be invited to come into school to see how phonics is taught. Click on Games & Resources for some helpful information about Phonics including Mr Thorne and Alphablocks. These will give you more information on how to pronounce the phonemes and digraphs.
Children that read each night to practice the skills they have been taught are the children who are most confident in school.
Did you know our school has a school milk scheme?
By registering your child for our school milk scheme they will receive a 189ml (third of a pint) carton of semi-skimmed milk every day. This is delivered fresh and chilled to their classroom every day.
“How much does it cost?”
Thanks to government subsidies, school milk is free for all under-fives and is subsided at around £15 a term for children aged five or older.
“Why should I register my child?”
School milk provides your child with essential nutrients such as calcium and protein, for strong, healthy teeth and bones. It is also rehydrating and energy boosting, helping to bridge the long gap between breakfast and lunch so children stay focused.
