Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

Welcome back, we hope you have all had a lovely Summer and we are looking foward to working with your children this year.  Our first topic for this half term is all about South Green and later this term we will be going on a trip around the local area.  We will let you have more details about this later in the term.  We are also going to be using the book "James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl in our English lessons this half term.

Our P.E. days for Year 2 will be on Monday afternoons and Friday afternoons, please make sure that they have all their P.E. kit in school on those days and they will need plimsolls for both sessions as we will be doing short tennis and basketball.   Please remember children cannot do PE if they are wearing pierced earrings. Parents are asked to ensure these are removed on PE days. as

Don't forget it is a statutory subject and the responsibility of parents to ensure that children are able to take part. Please make sure they also have a PE kit which they can leave in school.

Outdoor Learning:  this has been timetabled for Tuesday mornings for Hares Class and Wednesday afternoons for Owls class.  We will be going out in all weathers so please can you make sure your child is wearing suitable clothes and has a coat with them.

Family Reading

This will commence on Wednesday 19th September in both classes and will be from 8.40 until 8.55am.  We hope you will be able to come in to class and read and share books with your child.
