Welcome to Year 2
Happy New Year to you all! We are looking forward to an exciting term when we will be learning all about the amazing continent of Africa and this will be our topic for all of the spring term. We will be sending out details of this terms home project later in the term which is linked to our work on Africa. We are going to be continuing our reading challenge and are hoping that more pupils will be reading at least 5 times per week at home. Don't forget to try and look at bug club at least once a week - there are some wonderful and interesting books on the website.
Our P.E. days for Year 2 will be on Monday afternoons and Friday afternoons, please make sure that they have all their P.E. kit in school on those days and they will need plimsolls for both sessions as we will be doing fencing on Monday and Gymnastics on Friday. Please remember children cannot do PE if they are wearing pierced earrings. Parents are asked to ensure these are removed on PE days. as
Don't forget it is a statutory subject and the responsibility of parents to ensure that children are able to take part. Please make sure they also have a PE kit which they can leave in school.
Outdoor Learning: this has been timetabled for Monday afternoons for Hares Class and Wednesday afternoons for Owls class. We will be going out in all weathers so please can you make sure your child is wearing suitable clothes and has a coat with them.
This will change to Friday mornings for both classes and will commence on Friday 12th January in both classes and will be from 8.40 until 8.55 am. We hope you will be able to come in to class and read and share books with your child.
