Welcome to South Green Infant and Nursery School
South Green Infant and Nursery School is a safe environment in which young children can learn. We believe in building good foundations and in educating ' the whole child'. To do this we aim to personalise their learning and help them understand the qualities they need to be successful.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Thank you for visiting!
Visiting Our School
September 2020: We usually invite prospective parents in to walk around the school in the Autumn Term, and as yet we have received no guidance from the Department of Education as to whether these tours may go ahead or not.
Once we have received confirmation that we can invite visitors into school, and we have pencilled in a date, the information will be shared here. Thank you for your understanding.
If you are moving into the area mid-year, please be aware that there is a shortage of school places in Billericay and you are advised to research availability by ringing the school. Infant classes are capped at 30 children per class and once this number has been reached, schools cannot take more children.
If you are moving into the area and are looking for a Reception place for a child who has not yet started school, information can be sought through the Admissions Department of the Local Authority.
Over the years we have tried to arrange personal visits for parents whose children are approaching school age and who are selecting schools for their children. So many families now want to visit the school that it is becoming disruptive to the children in class so we have taken the decision to have tours of our school on specific days in line with colleagues across the town. Please ring the school to book a tour.
We welcome your feedback after the event as we want the tours to be as informative as possible for parents who are making very difficult decisions.
Tours of the School
You will have chance to meet the Head teacher who will tell you about the school. There will be a tour of the school where you can view the classrooms and see the children at work. If you have specific questions that relate to your child, please let us know and we will make time to talk to you privately.
Date of Next Tour
