Pupil Premium Funding

What is Pupil Premium Funding?

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It’s designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers. Each financial year, schools receive funding for each pupil registered as eligible for free school meals (FSM)

The pupil premium grant is designed to allow schools to help disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve.

  • £1,345 for pupils in primary education
  • £2,345 for every pupil who has left local authority care through adoption, a special guardianship order or child arrangements order.

Do I qualify for Pupil Premium Funding?

Your child will qualify for funding if you are in receipt of any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

If you are in receipt of any of the above evidence, and it is dated within the

last 6 weeks please call or email the school office.
